WHAT THE RULE SAYS
Under Rule 6-2-4, a normal kickoff that first lands or is touched short of the landing zone is a foul. The receiving team can take the ball 25 yards from the kick spot. From Atlanta's 35, that puts Pittsburgh at its own 40. This is a placement ruling, not a conventional five- or ten-yard walk-off.
2026 NFL Rulebook · Rule 6-2-4 ↗GR/BR TAKE
On the recorded facts, the spot fits the rule. The odd part is the box score: an accepted penalty, zero yards, and better field position for Pittsburgh. Read the play before declaring the numbers broken. This is a rule-based judgment from the play-by-play, not a frame-by-frame video review.
